CASA ALAMI is a space for creation that unfolds through two distinct yet connected forms of expression.
One space, two movements:
Creation as cultural exploration,
and creation as reaction and necessity.
Through objects: cangas, scarves, and design pieces,
I want to explore culture as a source of beauty and enchantment.
Through writing:the Journal, novels, poetry and through painting, the approach shifts.
I write and paint to respond to what I observe,to what irritates or obsesses me to release tension
and clear space in my mind.
My name is Mehdi Alami. I am a Moroccan artist based in Brazil, Brazilian at heart.
Trained in IT Engineering, I found in art an essential field for expression and inquiry.
My work moves between painting, writing, and design, articulated through the project Casa Alami.
I have been working independently since 2007, a period when I was living in Germany,
where I began developing a practice shaped by tensions, challenges,
and experiences that continue to inform my artistic language.
My work reflects a hybrid trajectory, where technique and sensitivity meet,
revealing narratives that engage with identity, displacement, and transformation.
